Custom Rocking Chairs
The custom rocking chairs I build are hand-made to your specifications and available in a variety of figured hardwoods and sizes. The overall design is both functional and elegant; from the coopered headrest to the long sweeping rockers, every joint, surface, and detail is sensual and pleasing to the eye. In a roomful of furniture, a hand sculpted, custom rocking chair immediately becomes the focal point exhibiting a level of quality and craftsmanship which is quickly fading in our fast paced world. My work is all about quality and excellence.
A big feature of my custom rocking chairs is the flexible back braces that I offer. They not only conform to the shape of your back providing excellent lumbar support but they also flex and rotate as you turn in the chair, gently cradling your lower back. Every human back is different and the "self adjusting" nature of my back braces sets them apart from almost all other custom made rocking chairs. This support is especially good for people with bad backs and mothers with newborns. People come in different sizes and so should their rocking chairs. I have made custom chairs for people as short as 4'10" and as tall as 6'8". I can also make armless custom chairs for musicians and quilters; just call.
